Conform to the divine will

"For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]! (Heb.5.13 AMP)

We saw yesterday that both milk and solid food are both a product of the word of God. One way we can look at it is, how we get different byproducts from the same source. For example, we can get kerosene and petroleum from crude oil. We can get starch and garri from cassava. So also we can milk and solid food from God's word.

If we continue feeding on milk which is for babies, there is only so much we can grow. Our text says "For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness..."

And because such a one is inexperienced and unskilled in the use of God's word, it becomes difficult to conform to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action.

Take the parable of the shower in Mark 4 as a case in point. They all received the word sown into the soil of their heart but what each does with the word determines how the word produces in their lives. Those who allowed the word to be stolen by satan (verse 15), those who did not allow the word to take root (verse 17), those who allowed the cares of this world to choke the word ( verse 19), and those that brought forth fruits (verse 20)

"And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred." (Mark.4.20)

Even among those that brought forth fruit, some brought thirty percent, some sixty percent, and others a hundred percent.

To conform to God's divine will for your life, you must continue to practice the word of God - let the word take first place in your thoughts and your lives. Allow the word to be the guiding principle of life. That way, we will begin to conform to God's divine will for our lives
