Don't Waste Your Conflicts
Don’t Waste Your Conflicts
"For it was the LORD Himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that He might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the LORD had commanded Moses.” (Joshua 11:20)
Conflict is not always a bad thing. Our text makes this very clear. The Bible says it was God’s idea that the nations stubbornly resisted Israel. From Israel’s perspective, this resistance was a serious conflict—a problem to solve, a threat to confront, a question demanding answers. But from God’s perspective, it was an opportunity to deal decisively with Israel’s enemies and fulfil His divine purpose.
This teaches us an important lesson: conflicts often look negative to us, but they may be strategic in God’s plan. If we look closely enough, we will often find opportunities hidden inside our struggles. The text emphasizes that it was God’s idea. That means some battles are not accidents, and some pressures are not punishments—they are divine setups.
The challenge you are facing right now may be God’s instrument to usher you into something He has already planned. Scripture tells us that Jesus Himself learned obedience through the things He suffered. What looks like resistance may be preparation; what feels like delay may be alignment.
From our human perspective, conflict may appear to be the devil trying to pull us down. But from God’s perspective, it may be the very means He is using to lift us up. When a conflict persists, don’t dismiss it as meaningless. It is not for nothing. God is at work.
Israel stood helpless before the Red Sea—an impossible situation. To the enemy, it was an opportunity to destroy them. To God, it was an opportunity to reveal His power in a way the world had never seen. The sea parted, and history changed.
Don’t waste your conflicts. God is up to something good.
Reflection
What conflict are you facing right now? Instead of asking only “How do I escape this?”, ask “What is God producing through this?” Your struggle may be the doorway to growth, deliverance, or a deeper walk with God. Trust His perspective even when you don’t understand His process.
Prayer
Father, help me not to waste the conflicts You permit in my life. Open my eyes to see Your purpose in my struggles and give me the grace to respond with faith, patience, and obedience. Turn every battle into a testimony and every challenge into an instrument of growth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a fruitful day,
