8 attributes of God's wisdom

8 attributes of God's wisdom

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (Jas.3.17)

1. Pure: The wisdom of God is pure. That means it is not diluted and has the right motives. In certain quartets, people do things in a certain way and think they are "smart", No, they are not, at least it is not the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God is pure.

2. Peaceful: The wisdom of God is peaceful. That means the action resulting from this wisdom is peaceful. It avoids strife and dissent but leads to peace.

3. Gentle: It is gentle. When it speaks its words are soft. And by soft I  speak of the tone. It is not hash. It reminds me of Prov.15.1 - "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

4. Easy to be intreated: The wisdom of God listens. It may not always agree but it listens and understands. It gives a second chances and a third if need be. It is easily intreated.

5. Full of mercy: The wisdom of God grants mercies because it is full of mercy. It does not stick to its gun. It is merciful

6. Good fruits: The wisdom of God bears good fruits. The end product of this wisdom is good. It is not a pushover, it produces good fruits.

7. Without partiality: The wisdom of God is not partial. It is fair to all involved. We see this displayed in the judgement of Solomon in 1 Kings 3:26 -28.

8. Without hypocrisy: The wisdom of God is not hypocritical. It is straightforward. Its yeah is yeah and nay is nay. It is not two-faced. It stays true through and through.

Check your actions against this checklist and may help us all to grow in wisdom. Amen
