Cultivate Inner beauty

Cultivate Inner beauty

"You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you're named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls. CULTIVATE INNER BEAUTY (1Pet.2.25 MSB)

Whose eyes see inner beauty? If it is inner where the eyes cannot see, how do we know or how can we tell it is beautiful?

Our text says we were lost. Were, being the operative word. It says we had no idea who we were and where we were going. These are existential questions - who are you? Why are you here? And, Where are you going?

When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, man became lost. He did not only lose his way -where he was going but also who he was. To find where he was going, he had to first find himself.

To find one's self, one has to find one's source and that source is connected to one's name. Hence, it says, "We are named for the good Shepherd. A name not only defines who a person is but also where the person is going.

We were lost but not anymore. Once, you are found by the Saviour, you find yourself and when you find yourself, you can find where you are going. Once this happens, your process of cultivating inner beauty begins. Jesus told Peter because you have rightly identified me, I will reveal you to you.

"Jesus came back, "God bless you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn't get that answer out of books or from teachers. My Father in heaven, God himself, let you in on this secret of who I really am. And now I'm going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out." (Matt.16.17 -18 MSB)

Now that you know who you are, develop inner beauty
