Love life and see good days?


"For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile" (1Pet.3.10)

I love this scripture so much. Love it because it shows us the path to living the good life. He says if one will love life and see good days, one has to refrain one's tongue from evil and one's lips from speaking no guile or deceit or lies. 

Our mouth and our heart are connected. Jesus teaches that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. 

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matt.12.34)

If one will refrain from speaking evil, one's heart must first refrain from evil. Jesus asked how can those who are evil speak good things. Right words cannot come out of an evil heart. 

There are so many people saying the right thing with the wrong heart. Their lips disagree with their heart. If you desire to enjoy life, then refrain, leave, or cease from speaking evil and telling lies. Many people lie in that, what is on their lips is different from what is in their heart 

To enjoy life and see good days your mouth and your heart must be right and refrain from speaking evil and deceit.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
