Be responsible

Be Responsible 

"God blessed them: "Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth." (Gen.1.28) 

The words 'Be responsible' jumped at me as I read through this verse. And I saw in mind's eyes how the world will be a better place if we were all responsible. There is a lot of irresponsibility on display in this day and age. Are you responsible? 

Irresponsible parent - little wonder children are the way they are, irresponsible teachers - why we have students failing up and down, irresponsible employers - employees owed their salaries left and right, irresponsible employee - that will abdicate their responsibility, irresponsible children - parents stressed out of their wit's end. Irresponsibility just on display. Little wonder our world is the way it is. 

The way to show that you are responsible is to Prosper! To Reproduce! To  Fill Earth! And to Take charge!  When you fulfil God's mandate on your life, you are responsible. So are you responsible? Be responsible.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
