Because you have obeyed me

Because you have obeyed me 

"All nations on Earth will find themselves blessed through your descendants because you obeyed me." (Gen.22.18) 

The walk of faith is truly a walk in and of obedience. What is the worth of your faith if it is not anchored on obedience. But God is not unmindful. He rewards obedience. He said to Abraham, "because you have obeyed  me, all nations of the earth will be blessed through you. That tells us that there are benefits for obeying 

I am reminded of another passage of scripture where God tells us that He will deliver us because we have set our love on Him and He will set us on high because we have known His name. Understanding why He is doing these things. Because if we understand why, we can repeat these actions and get same results. 

"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. (Ps.91.14 KJV)

Abraham obeyed and because of that obedience God blessed him. You have heard it said that things are not the blessing. God blessed Abraham and that blessing brought the 'things' eg children, cattle, protection, etc. The blessings of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrow to it. May that blessing be yours as you obey God. Amen

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. "Law man" or God's man

The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind. The reason why the Apostle says here that he quiets being a 'law man' but instead became God's man "What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work.
