Husbands listen to your wife

"But God spoke to Abraham, "Don't feel badly about the boy and your maid. Do whatever Sarah tells you. Your descendants will come through Isaac." (Gen. 21.12) 

The proverbs of Solomon asked a very pertinent question and I want you to ponder as a man and reflect on as a woman. 

"An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels." (Proverbs 31:10) 

This is pertinent because God asked Abraham to listen to his wife. This is counter-culture where women are meant to be seen but not heard. God says to him, "Do whatever Sarah tells you."

Most marital problems would have been resolved if only men learn to listen to their wives. Wives are meant to help their husbands. The number one reason God proposed marriage to Adam in the garden of Eden - is so that Eve can be a help meet but how can they help if they are not heard? 

That is why in the opening paragraph I admonish women to reflect on the proverb of Solomon and men to ponder. An excellent woman who can find? 

But remember whatever it was the woman said to Abraham was confirmed by God. So there is the place where you as the man must confer with God regarding whatever it is the woman has said. While Adam failed in the garden of Eden, Abraham succeeded because, Abraham conferred with God after listening to his wife. Men listen to your wife, but confer with God.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
