May God open your eyes

"Just then God opened her eyes. She looked. She saw a well of water. She went to it and filled her canteen and gave the boy a long, cool drink. (Gen. 21.19 MSB)

It is amazing the countless opportunities we do not take advantage of because we are not looking for them. Some times, it is because we do not know enough to see the opportunities in and around us. Yet, other times, it is just that we are blinded to these opportunities. May God open your eyes. 

Hagar had wandered aimlessly and squandered the resources she needed to get from where she was to where she ought to be. Just like some of us, wasting our scarce resource on ventures with no eternal verities. We pass over opportunities repeatedly because we do not see the possibilities therein. 

Hagar and her son was left for dead until God opened her eyes to see what was there all the while. God opened her eyes and she saw the well of water that has been there all the while but she did not see it and was going to die, even though provision had been made. It reminds me of Elisha's servant who did not see the host of heaven that was around them until his eyes were opened and he saw. 

"Then Elisha prayed, "O GOD, open his eyes and let him see." The eyes of the young man were opened and he saw. A wonder! The whole mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!"(2 Kgs.6.17) 
I pray that your eyes be open and that you may see your way around the bend and over the mountains(problems). Amen

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
