Children of God by faith

God may be the God of the whole world but is He the Father of all? By implication, can we all lay claim to God as our Father? There are even those who do not believe in the existence of a God, there are those who believe in several other gods, can we all lay claim to being children of God?

"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." (Gal.3.26)

Paul says we are all the children of God - all, no exception. Now, this may be in a sense where one addresses a group of people and says to them "you are all" - meaning everyone being addressed. But we also know what was said to one can also apply to all.

He went on to say we are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Meaning if you do not have faith in Christ Jesus you are not a child of God.

It is believed that when you received Christ your name will be written in the book of life. But the scripture does not support that. But rather suggest that everyone's name is already written and if you refuse or do not accept Jesus Christ by faith then your name is blotted out when you die. For example, Moses told God to blot his name out of the book of life if he would not forgive the children of Israel.

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.(Exod.32.32-33) In other words, everyone's name is written.

God says he will blot out those who sin against him

"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." (Rev.3.5) Again, we see it here.

Have you put your faith in Jesus Christ? If yes, then you are a child of God, if not, this is your chance to. (Believe in your heart, confess with your mouth the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life)
