Daily ration, daily routine 

"GOD said to Moses, "I'm going to rain bread down from the skies for you. The people will go out and gather each day's ration. I'm going to test them to see if they'll live according to my Teaching or not. On the sixth day, when they prepare what they have gathered, it will turn out to be twice as much as their daily ration." (Exod.16.4 - 5)

What you do daily determine what you become permanently. God had told the children of Israel that he was going set up rules and procedures for them to follow. In this day and age, we would have said structures and systems but rules and procedures communicate the same intentions. 

So God says to Moses in response to the complaint against God about not having enough to eat. God says He will rain bread down from the skies but these bread are to be taken by the people on a daily basis and on the sixth day, they will take a double portion. Take only what the day requires. This will set them in a routine, pattern of some sort that will help them achieve their goal. Don't forget systems and structures. 

God says this is a test. And one thing we know about test is that when you pass the test you get promoted and you have a testimony. And notice that the test is to see if they will live according to God's teaching. So we see that the test is poverty, sickness but how they live in accordance to God's word. What do you do daily, what do you do regularly? What you do daily will determine what you become eventually. Commit to a daily routine of the study of God's word and prayer, commit to a daily meditation, commit to daily improvement of character, and God will work out His long term goal in your life. 

"A man 's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure." (Prov.16.9 AMP)

"Law man" or God's man

The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind. The reason why the Apostle says here that he quiets being a 'law man' but instead became God's man "What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work.
