Known by God

Do you know the Lord? Is a popular question that the old folks asked to elicit a response that gave them a reason to bring you to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But can we really know the Lord? Paul, the Apostle seems to be minded on this thought that he remarked:

"But now that you know God--or rather are known by God--how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?"(Gal.4.9)

In other words, there was a time that you did not know God, and God did not know you.

Now that you know God; but no, that you are known by God. In a sense, we can say that God knows everyone because He is all-knowing- the Omniscient God. But let me explain It like this. You may have the telephone number of a prominent individual saved on your phone and brag to your friends that you know that individual. But if you get on your phone and place a call to this prominent individual, he may not recognize the person to whom he is speaking. You would have to introduce yourself. But if you put yourself in a position where this prominent individual needs your services and he calls you, there won't be so much introduction.

Does God know you like that? Or do you have to introduce yourself to God every time you call to speak to Him? Certain voices are known by God and would not require an introduction. So do you know the Lord or are you known by God? Are you intimate with Him? God knew Jesus -

"And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matt.3.17)
