One in Christ

Class is created to favour or discriminate against one another in society. Even in the Bible, we are told that women were not entitled to inheritance until the daughters of one Zelophehad in Numbers 27 wrecked tradition

"Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father." (Num.27.4)

Traditions have largely remained the same because we have not asked why long enough. Why should corruption be the order of the day? Why shouldn't we have a performing government? Why shouldn't leaders be accountable?

Yet there remains a lot of tradition that has held countless individuals back from becoming all they could become.

Some are slaves and are therefore not entitled to freedom, some are Gentiles, etc. The Apostle Paul here tells us that that restriction is broken

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." (Gal.3.28)

Why is this important? We have seen one example of why it is important with the daughters of Zelophehad, since that distinction was removed they gained an inheritance. But much more is that all of the restrictions you could come up with were collapsed and we all became one in Christ where there is no restriction of any type. Meaning whatever anyone is entitled to in Christ, everyone is entitled to it. We became one with Christ. Anything Christ has become ours by the virtue that we are one with him. Think of anything Christ has and that that because we have become one with him, we have it too. We are one in Christ. Amen

And have a great day today,
