The blessing of Abraham





Many people sing the song "Abraham's blessings are mine" but very few understand what Abraham's blessings are. Abraham's blessing is not money, riches, or wealth.

The blessing of Abraham is much more than riches, more than wealth, more than money, and what money cannot buy. The blessing of Abraham is the very life of God.

Notice it did not say the blessings of Abraham but the blessing; as in singular, not plural. And we know that the blessing is Christ.

"And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham's blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God's life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing--just the way Abraham received it. [JC] (Gal.3.14 MSG)

This passage says because of what Jesus did, the air is now cleared and we are all now able to receive God's life. So the life of God is the blessing Abraham was blessed with.

Now what you do with the life of God that you have received is up to you. How you express that life of God is up to you. Some have expressed in good character disposition, others in wealth creation. Abraham was a great representation in that he expressed the life of God in good character traits, wealth creation, family orientation.

The life of God is the power of God. Moses tells us that God gives us the power to get wealth. When I received Christ I received the blessing of Abraham. Now it is up to me to manifest it. God is counting on me to show the world how good it is to receive the blessing of Abraham.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
