The gospel according to Abraham

We do not fully and truly understand what the Bible means when it says that, 'God declares the end from the beginning.

"Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:(Isa. 46.10)

If we did, we would understand that before the gospel was according to Matthew, Mark Luke, and John, the gospel was first according to Father Abraham.

"And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify (declare righteous, put in right standing with Himself) the Gentiles in consequence of faith, proclaimed the Gospel [foretelling the glad tidings of a Savior long beforehand] to Abraham in the promise, saying, In you shall all the nations [of the earth] be blessed." (Gal.3.8 Amp)

God knew beforehand that the gentiles would be conscripted and weaved into the divine agenda, as, that was the original plan as preached to Abraham. That, "in him all nations of the world would be blessed."

So what is the gospel according to Abraham?

That through faith God will justify, declare righteous, put in right standing with Himself the Gentiles in consequence of faith. If you have faith in Christ then the result of that faith is that you are put right with God.

Before the good deeds, the right words, impeccable behaviour, and extraordinary attitude. Before the expression of the gifts of the spirits and the fruit of the spirits, before the commendable prayer life and rigorous Bible study is the simple faith that puts you right with God. All of these would follow once you get right with God -and that, like Abraham is believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

And have a great day today,

  1. This revelation is the core of the Gospel of Christ: righteousness is a gift only attainable by faith, not by rigorously seeking to observe and obey the law! (Rom 10:1-10)
Though when you've received the gift of righteousness by faith, along with it come the perks of enableness and empowerment, not only to easily glide over the law, but to please God in all obedience!
Thank you Brother, for this liberating exposition.

  2. Being right is just believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross and every other thing will follow.
The gentiles believed in their gods , when a greater, higher and better God was introduced to them, they didn't find it so difficult to believe. Thank you sir. May the knowledge and belief of our Lord continue to be our firm foundation in Jesus name amen.
