The hearing of faith

The Apostle Paul tells us in the book of Romans that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Rom.10.17)

What does it mean to hear by the word of God?

It is to hear according to the word of God. To hear what God's word is saying instead of the voice of your situation, your feelings, or your circumstance.

I am reminded of the song we use to sing, "I'm not moved by what people say, hallelujah...I'm only moved by the word of God, hallelujah". That is what it means to hear by the word of God

This is also what was referenced in our text:

"He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?" (Gal.3.5)

Here, he called it the hearing of faith. Faith does not hear according to your feelings, but according to the tested and tried word of God. The hearing of faith says this is what the situation is, but I choose to stand with what the word of God says.

In a given situation, you want to ask, "what does the word of God say on this? And after you have found out what God's word says, you stick with it. May not be easy but the hearing of faith or hearing by the word of God is hearing how God hears. Jesus warned, be careful how you hear.

" Take heed therefore how ye hear:" (Luke.8.18)

How do you hear? The hearing of your situation and your feelings
or the hearing of faith?

And have a great day today,
