Find opportunities to do good

I wonder what the world be like if we all went out of our ways to not only look for but also create opportunities to do good to others?

It is my observation that we create opportunities to be blessed. Our jobs create opportunities to increase our wealth. We exercise, and create diets to increase our health. In other words, the opportunities we create are to be a blessing to us.

God told Abraham that "I will bless you and you will be a blessing"

"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:" (Gen.12.2)

One proof that you are blessed by God is that you become a blessing. That is you create opportunities to be a blessing to others.

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." (Gal.6.10)

Find the opportunity to do good. And when we do, we put our God on display for the world to taste and see how good our God is.

As we prepare to go into a new year, do not only lookout for opportunities to be blessed but rather to be a blessing, especially to them who are of the household of faith. Do not wait to receive but create opportunities to give.  You were blessed to be a blessing. For we were created in Christ Jesus unto good works.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
