A new creature in Christ Jesus

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature." (Gal.6.15)

The "in Christ" experience is better experienced than explained. Everything God has for the believer can only be enjoyed "in Christ". God will not bless you outside of Christ. Little wonder we are told that we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (Eph.1.3)

Circumcision was the premise upon which 'salvation' was obtained in the olden days as this was the token of the covenant between God and Abraham. So everyone who was to identify with God through Abraham had to go through circumcision. God gave that instruction to Abraham

"This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised." (Gen.17.10)

But our text says to us that this instruction is no longer relevant. That it does not matter whether you are circumcised or not and that what matters now is being a "new creature in Christ Jesus".

Jesus in John chapter three tells us how you can become a new creature. He says you must be born again.

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John:3:3)

To see there is to experience the new creation realities. Except a man be born again he cannot experience the kingdom of God.

Paul the Apostle took this a step further and said that "if any man be in Christ he is a new creature" (see 2Cor.5.17)

Are you a new creature? Are you in Christ?

This is a new year and a perfect opportunity for you to be a new creature if you are not. This tells us one thing and that is, only belief in the Lord Jesus Christ guarantees your salvation. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

Let me formally wish you and your family a very happy new and prosperous year.

Good day,
And have a great day today,

  1. We therefore can do all things through Christ who strengthens...

Christians must continue to observe the covenant circumcision of the male child and maintain it's relevance....

The verb above "do" tied to faith breed bleedings, "for I will bless the works of your hand"... The gift of God is without repentance and added no sorrow .

I know therefore , that through him , with him and in him , in the unity of the Holy Spirit I can do all things blessed.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I agree that circumcision has its benefits as you rightly pointed out. But it does not guarantee salvation as it would have in Abraham's day. This was the buy-in that secured your place as a son in the family.
