In Him

I am reminded of the passage of scripture that says "In him, we live, and move and have our being". Our very existence begins and ends in him. Little wonder Hebrews tell us that he is the author and the finisher of our faith. (See Heb:12:2)

"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." (Acts.17.28)

This ascertains that our existence is in Him. He is our beginning and our ending. We began in him and in him, we will end. This is a privilege that we have been accorded those who have made Christ their  Lord and Saviour. And this privilege guarantee's us certain benefits.

"According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" (Eph.1.4)

In Him, we are chosen. Jesus said we did not choose Him but that He chose us. (See John:15:16) He chose us before the foundation of the world. He chose you before you did right or wrong. He chose you before you knew you existed.

The reason He chose us is so that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. God chose you to be holy in him in love. God saw you completely through and through yet he chose you. You are of an inestimable value and you are chosen in Him. Know that you are chosen to be holy before God in love.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
