Made known to us

One fundamental question we ask is, what is the will of God for my life? Knowing the will of God is central to doing the will of God. If you don't know it, how will you be able to do it? The will of God is not something we find out from reading textbooks. In fact, the Apostle Paul asked the question: "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." (1Cor.2.16)

It has always been the pursuit of man to find out what the will of God is, as there is a certain peace that comes when one is in the center of God's will. Conversely, that peace is forfeited when you are not in the will of God.

Prov.25.2 tells that: "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

So when God makes his will known to us, it comes to us as a mystery.

"Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:" (Eph.1.9)

This mystery however is made know to us. The scriptures say it is according to his good pleasure. In other words, it pleases God to make known his will to us. Little wonder Amos tells us that God will do nothing except he first reveals it to His servants the prophets. (see Amos:3:7)

Romans:12:2 tells us that when we renew our mind, we can convert that mystery to workable knowledge  - "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

A renewed mind is able to prove or ascertain what the will of God is. We renew our minds when we adapt or harmonize God's thoughts - His word as ours. He has made known his will to us, just renew your mind and it will become obvious.

And have a great day today,
