Eternal purpose

'Only what we do for Christ will last' is the way the songwriter puts it. That means only things with eternal purposes should be weighty enough to sustain your focus.

The Psalmist talks about how God knew the beginning and the ending of his life. And that God has an eternal agenda spelt out even before he was born and that God has an agenda for each day.

"Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book, all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape when as yet there was none of them." (Ps.139.16 Amp)

God has an agenda spelt out for each of your days. But not until you buy into God's eternal purpose, you may not find that agenda.

"According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:" (Eph.3.11)

So the Apostle Paul says here that there is an eternal purpose and that this purpose is "according to the eternal purpose which was purposed in Christ. Your purpose can only be found and fulfilled in Christ. Find Christ, find your purpose and your fulfillment.

Moses was instructed to build according to the pattern that was given to him. "Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount." (Heb.8.5)

Paul the Apostle talked about not being disobedient to the heavenly vision." Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:" (Acts.26.19)

Focus on your eternal purpose...
