Husband's leadership

The husband is not a figurehead, he has the responsibility to provide leadership to his wife. The King James version says "the man is the head of the wife". It is interesting how this has been interpreted to mean that a man is the head of every woman. You, man, are not the head of every woman, but your wife. And the reason the man is head is to provide leadership by cherishing.

"The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing." (Eph.5.23 MSG)

We will all agree on one fact, and that is, no one likes a bossy leader. Hence it says "as Christ does for the church". How did Christ provide leadership for the church? He did this by example, not by domineering but by cherishing.

Gary Thomas in his book: "Cherish, the one word that changes everything for your marriage" talks about how when we get married and exchange our vows, we say, "to love and to cherish, till death do us part". That after marriage we get the love part right but most people have neglected the cherishing part.

He sees cherish as "This sign of respect, adoration, gratitude, and honor— going out of your way to notice someone, appreciate someone, honor someone, hold someone dear— in such a visible way, even kneel-ing at their feet, is a picture of what we could call “cherish.”

This is how Christ wants the husband to provide leadership to the wife by cherishing her. Christ even went as far as dying for his bride, the church. Husband is this how you have provided leadership for your wife? If not, what else can you add to it to make your leadership worthwhile? Husbands provide leadership to your wife the way Christ provides leadership to the church by cherishing her.

    The truth is most husbands don't have a clue of what been a head means.
    Head means head, e.g. what does the head do? It has the foundational structure of the body. If you amputate any other parts of the body, the body will still survive but I have never head of anywhere that the head is amputated, and the body survives.
    It is in the head that you have the brain for thinking and other survival functions that the body needs. It is the head you have your mouth that feeds the body and speaks for the body. It is in the head that you have the nose that takes in oxygen for the body to survive and breathes out carbon dioxide that the body does not need. It is the head that you have the ears that listens for the body. It is in the head you have eyes that sees for the body. The pituitary gland that controls the whole functions of the body for its survival is located in the head. The head is key and essential for the body.
    That is why JESUS talks about the head, if you remove the head, there will be no body. If you remove JESUS CHRIST, there will be no church.
    Even in the physical world, if the head of a country is bad, the country itself will not be good. If the head decides to fight war, the people suffer, like what is currently happening in Russia and Ukraine. If the head of any home, country, company, business e.t.c is good, everything will be good.
    Most people feel comfortable going
    to the first world countries because over the decades, they have had heads that have planned and implemented good for their countries. I hope that men will understand this and know that been an head is a great and huge responsibility that impacts the future of anything. Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken.
