Where is God

The story is told of a mother who couldn't get a handle on her two sons. She reported the matter to a Pastor who invited the boys to his office. The younger is said to be more notorious and as a result, was asked to come in first to see the Pastor. When he entered the Pastor's office, with a stern face the Pastor asked him, where is God? He responded, "I don't know. And the Pastor repeated the question, "Where is God"? The boy ran out and in seeing him the older one approached and asked what the matter was. He replied by saying, this is bad. What's bad, asked the older. And he said we are in serious trouble this time, God is missing and they think we are responsible.

"Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. (Eph.5.1 Amp.)

God is indeed missing. This generation does not seem to see a lot of God these days. It has, therefore, become difficult to imitate a God that they cannot see. There is a dearth of the manifestation of the person of God. If you were asked to paint a picture of God what would your picture look like? Have you seen enough of God to help you imitate Him?

Paul says we must be imitators of God as dear children. Genesis told us that we are made in the image and the likeness of God (see Gen:1:26-27) Jesus is the son of God and he said if you have seen the son you have seen the Father (see John:14:9). Romans then tells us that the earnest expectations of the creature await the manifestation of the sons of God. (see Ron:8:19)

So if the world and indeed this generation must see and imitate God it must be through the manifested sons of God.

Where is God? "Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father? (John.14.9 Amp.)

And have a great day today,
