Keep reaching

My message to you today is straightforward, keep reaching. Whatever you have achieved is behind, there is still more ahead, stretch, reach, there is more ahead.

God has more in store for you. Paul says I count not myself to have apprehended. In other words, I have come a long way, I have seen this and seen that but there is more ahead. Everything behind me is behind, I'm forgetting those things and reaching forward. If your most impressive achievements yesterday are what you're talking about today, you know you need to reach.

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before" (Phil.3.13)

This is one thing I do... forgetting those things which are behind. Forget whatever you have achieved until now. There's more ahead, but you have to reach. Blind Bartimaeus had to let go of who he was to become who he could be. (see Mark:10:46-52)

"And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus." (Mark.10.50)

There's more to you than meets the eyes but you have got to reach. Keep reaching

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
