Shining lives

Your life is the light. Jesus says we have the light of life. The expectation is for your life to be light and give directions to those around you.

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John.8.12)

If you follow Jesus you will not walk in darkness because you shall have the light of life. When this happens, the Apostle Paul says that no one can speak a word of blame against you.

"so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them". (Phil.2.15)

We are to live clean, innocent lives in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. So God knows the terrain in which you operate. It is not strange to Him. In the midst of it He says, let your lives shine brightly before them. One translation says "you shine like stars in the universe"(NIV)

God is not expecting the darkness to swallow up your light. He expects your light to extinguish the darkness. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has no answer for it. (see John:1:5)

"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good". (Rom.12.21)

You have got what it takes, you don't have to try, just live and let the Holy Ghost shine in and through you. Shining lives...

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
