I'm not against you

"Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!" (Phil.4.5)

How clear can it be further expressed? I am not against you. Jesus is not against you. God is not against you.

One of the proofs of the presence of God is the presence of peace. When God is not present chaos and darkness reign. Genesis tells us that the earth was formless and darkness was upon the face of the deep. Then God spoke light.

People are meant to live together in peace. The absence of peace is the absence of God. The absence of God is the presence of darkness and the presence of darkness is the absence of peace.

The Master is about to return. Matthew 24 foretells some of the things happening right now. Take heart and don't be moved.

This is our consolation, there is rest for us. To you who are troubled, Paul says, rest with us.

"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels," (2Thess.1.7)

Our text says the Master can show up any minute now, Paul says Jesus shall be revealed. If you look at that carefully, the one thing you can take from both scriptures is that God is with you in trouble. He says the water will not overflow you, the fire will not burn you.

"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." (Isa:43:2)

He says He will be your very present help in trouble (see Psa:46:1)

I am not against you, Jesus is not against you.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
