The gospel is the power

It amazes me when people fight for their gods. Very early in the scriptures, we see the story of Gideon and what mission God had given him. When he carried out this mission, the men of the city came and said, we have to fight the person who had done this to our gods.

"And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar". (Judg.6.31)

Paul the Apostle tells us that the gospel is the power of God... (see Rom:1:16) If you want to see the power of God, preach the gospel. Little wonder Jesus said these 'signs shall follow when we preach the gospel. (see Mark:16:15-18)

Our text today addresses what the gospel does when it comes into your life as it did for the brethren at Colossae. The gospel...

"Which has come to you. Indeed, in the whole world [that Gospel] is bearing fruit and still is growing [by its own inherent power], even as it has done among yourselves ever since the day you first heard and came to know and understand the grace of God in truth. [You came to know the grace or undeserved favor of God in reality, deeply and clearly and thoroughly, becoming accurately and intimately acquainted with it.]" (Col.1.6 Amp.)

The gospel bears fruits and grows by its inherent power. If you want to see fruits and growth in life, you need the gospel. Take the word of God and apply it to every area of your life and see what results you will get. As long as you are 'deeply and clearly and thoroughly, becoming accurately and intimately acquainted with it", you will see the results. The gospel is the power
