Attitude to suffering

One's attitude amid trouble is what stands one out. Suffering comes to all, if not God will be unjust and unfair. And the reason is simple, your suffering or trial is also your opportunity.

The name of Jesus was exalted above all else only after he went through the cross. David talked about going through the valley of the shadow of death. It is just a going through, it is not your destination.

" [Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ 's afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church". (Col.1.24)

Paul says I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings. Your attitude in the midst of suffering tells what side of the divide you'll end up in. James tells us that when we fall into divers temptations that try us, that is our opportunity to begin to count our blessings. That is not the time to see your pain, your sufferings, trials, and tribulations. That is the opportunity to lift your hands and with the attitude of gratitude begin to count your joys.

If you can't think of any joys to count, maybe that's because you have not suffered enough so that may be why you are going through this current suffering so you will have an opportunity to count your joy.

Paul says for us to know the power of Christ's resurrection we have to be acquainted with the fellowship of his suffering.

Count it all joy...

Fellowship of his suffering...

The joy that was set before him...
I rejoice in my sufferings...

Your attitude toward suffering determines how you see the opportunities therein. If you are not seeing the opportunities, you are not suffering enough yet. Trying times are inverted opportunities, rejoice and not frown in them.

And have a great day today,
