Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you

The psalmist speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and abiding in the shadow of the Almighty. This gives us an inkling of the fact that this speaks to the vicinity of the presence of God.

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty". (Ps.91.1)

And this comes with a lot of benefits. For example, we are told that in the presence of God there is fullness of joy. In fact, Psalm 91 speaks to some of the benefits of dwelling in God's presence:
He shall deliver me (verse 3), He shall cover me (verse 4), A thousand shall by my side, ten thousand by the right side (verse 7) and with long life, he will satisfy me (verse 16) just to mention a few.

But in the New Testament we do not just dwell in the secret place of the Most High but the very essence of who God is, his word dwells in us

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord". (Col.3.16)

When we allow the word of God to dwell in us richly, this elevates us to operate in the realm of God. Jesus in John 15:7 says it thus if you abide in me (as we have seen in Psalms 91) and my word abides in you as we see in Col:3:16, you shall ask anything and it shall be done.

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you". (John.15.7)

And the operative word here is let. Allow the word of Christ to dwell richly in you. Permit the word to not only find expression in you but let it become your Operating System. Let it regulate your actions, commend, and command your life after the dictates of the word of God. Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly
