Wives submit to your own husbands

To submit and to obey are not synonyms. A lot of wives have obeyed their husbands thinking they are submissive. To submit there must first be disagreement or at least differences of opinion. 

If your husband wants you to do A and you agree with your husband you have obeyed but if your husband wants you to do B and you want to do A but then you abandon what you wanted to do, even though you have the capacity and everything it requires for you to do what you wanted but instead do He wants, you have submitted. 

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord". (Col.3.18) 

The other point that needs to be made about submission is that a wife is to submit to her own husband, not to every man on the street. It appears as though some people have read this passage to mean women everywhere must submit to men everywhere. But it is to her own husband that a wife should submit. I am not advocating that women be rude to other men but it needed to be said that a wife is to be submitted to her own husband. 

Finally, the verse says, it is fitting to do. In other words, it is proper. When it was proper for Christ to submit to the Father even though he could claim equality, the result was that he was given a name above every other name. It is a fitting thing to do because it exemplifies Christ and the Father.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
