More and more

God has more and more in store for us His children. He is always overflowing to us in all of His dealings with us. His love for us is extravagant. His mercy is everlasting, His joy unspeakable, His power exceeding and abundantly. 

"Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more". (1Thess.4.1) 

We have received instructions on how to please God, even that too is in excess. How we ought to walk and please God so that you would abound more and more. 

There is a way we ought to walk to abound more and more. Pleasing God is key. He says how ye ought to walk. There is a how-to. The wise king Solomon says the labour of fools wearies them. Why? Because they do not know how to... 

"The labor of fools wearies them, For they do not even know how to go to the city!" (Eccl.10.15) 

There is a how not to play basketball, and there is a how to play football. If you confuse the two, like the fool, you will weary yourself. The Apostle Paul says the way to abound more and more is by pleasing God. 

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success". (Josh.1.8) 

Take the instructions here and begin to please God so you will abound more and more. God has more and more for you.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
