When the bottle is full the cover gets to taste

Indeed, one cannot give what one does not have. Otherwise, why is it so difficult to love others just the way Christ loves the church? Roman 5 indeed tells us that the love of God is shared abroad in our hearts. But why is that love not being expressed as Christ expects?

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us". (Rom.5.5)

There is an Isoko adage that says when the bottle is full, the cover has the opportunity to taste. It is only when we grow in the love that we can truly love as Christ loves.

”And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you". (1Thess.3.12)

Not until we receive love so much that fills our lives, it cannot splash over to everyone around us. The best way to receive love is to learn to give it away. It is similar to what is said that we learn a language by speaking it. How do you speak a language you do not know? By speaking it. The same is true of love. The best way to love is by love.

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1Cor.13.4-7)

If you are struggling to love the way 1Cor.13 stipulates that love, you have to allow the Master to pour love on you until it fills you and begins to splash on all around you. When you are full, those around you will experience the love of Jesus through you.

And have a great day today,
