Don't be weary, keep doing good

"But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." (2Thess.3.13)

Doing good is good business. If we do good continuously, we will see the reward continuously. Though we do not do good because of the reward. The reward is an added benefit. We do good because it is the right thing to do. Therefore do not get tired of doing good, keep doing good.

The good we do while we are here on earth is what people remember us for. When a person dies, a few people will share a few tears and after that, it is over. But your good works continue to speak for you.

The Bible tells the story of Dorcas who was always helping the widows, when she died they called for Apostle Peter and she was raised. That she was raised back up is not what is important to me, but the testimony the people had of her.

"Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them." (Acts.9.39)

Acts 10:38 tells us that Jesus went about doing good. Do not wait until you can help everyone. Help the few you can where you can as long as you can. The instruction is to not be weary, do not get tired. The tendency is to get tired after a while. But keep doing good. Do not be weary, keep doing good. Do it to everyone. Let it be your default setting.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matt.5.16)

The way you shine your light is by doing good work. When your light shines, what people see are your good works. That's how we bring glory to God. Go out of your way today, to do good to as many people as you possibly can. And be not weary in well doing.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
