Holy and whole

"May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together--spirit, soul, and body--and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ". (1Thess.5.23)

This verse proves the triune nature of man. Man is a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. The Apostle Paul prays for the believers to be holy and whole.

It is good to be holy but it is not enough. He wants them to be whole as well. This is important as shown in the story of Jesus and the ten lepers that he healed.

Luke:17:11-19 gives an account of ten lepers that sought the help of Jesus. Verses 14 and 15 records that as they went, they saw that they were healed and cleansed.

"And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God". (Luke.17.14-15)

One of them saw that he was cleansed, and healed. He went back and glorified God and Jesus asked if they were not ten healed, where are the remaining nine? And then he said to this one that came back to glorify God with a loud voice

"Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole". (Luke.17.19)
Jesus pronounced him whole. He was made whole. This means that the scares that his previous sickness may have had on his mind, and his memory were also now taken care of. God wants us holy-that deals with our spirit but He also wants us whole - that deals with our soul and our body.

When you are whole it also means you are not fragmented. It means your whole spirit, soul and body are in alignment to do the bidding of the Lord. It is my prayer that the Lord keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ"
