If He said it, He will do it

Growing up, one thing my younger son would do when he wants something you had promised him was to say to you: "you said that, but you said that". Holding you to what you have said. I wondered where he got the notion that when one says something, that one has to make it good.

"The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he'll do it!" (1Thess.5.24 MSG)

The Apostle Paul says that the One who called you is completely dependable. Another translation says "the One who called you is faithful". Time will fail us to hint at the faithfulness of God.

He says even when we are not faithful, God will not deny himself, He remains faithful. One of the reasons God is God is His consistent faithfulness.

This is the reason why we can completely depend on Him because He is completely dependable and because He is completely dependable we know if He says a thing we know He will do it.

Like my son, you are a child of Father God, and all you need to do is repeat His Words back to Him and say "You said that...". And because He said it, He'll do it. When the devil tempted Christ, Christ spoke God's word repeatedly to overcome every temptation. The word of God cannot fall to the ground. If He said it, He'll do it.

Good day,
And have a great day today,
