Have you obtained mercy

"Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief." (1Tim.1.13)

The Apostle Paul rolled out his resume containing atrocities he had perpetuated in the past: a blasphemer - one who insults and shows contempt and disrespect for God.

A persecutor and injurious: It is on record that he had obtained a document that permitted him to continue his reign of persecution of Christians.

"And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest. And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem." (Acts.9.1 - 2)

Also, he supervised the stoning to death of one of the first deacons of the church - Stephen

"And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul." (Acts.7.58)

But that was not all, he went further and said that he obtained mercy. I implore you this day to obtain the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. His mercies are available to all and sundry.

Leave your past in the past where it belongs. A lot of people are struggling with the past when all they need is to obtain the mercies of our God. Do not let your past keep you in the past.

The Apostle Paul went on the became one of the most significant persons in the Bible. Do not drag your past into your future, put the mercies of God on it and move on to become all that God has for you. God's mercies are ALWAYS available to all who seek them. It matters less, what you think you may have done, you can still obtain the mercies of the Lord.

It is because of his mercies that we are not consumed, His mercies are new every morning and His mercies endure forever. (see Lam:3:22-23; Psalm 136)

Good day,
Have a great day today,
