Meditate

Meditation is a success factor. In very many ways, I could imagine meditation as a tool in the toolkit of champions.

God told Joshua to meditate on the book of the law - that is the word of God. Meditation is muttering under your breath. It is to think repeatedly. It is to focus on, to the point of fixation. Little wonder Paul the Apostle says here 'give yourself wholly to them' :

"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all." (1Tim.4.15)

To meditate is to give oneself wholly to what you're thinking on. It is good to read the scriptures. We saw that a few days ago in 1 Tim:4:13. It was this train of thought that was carried over to verse 15 of 1 Timothy where we are told to meditate. So if we put both verses together we will have this:

"Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them."
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all." (1Tim.4.13, 14)

So after reading the scriptures, you give yourself wholly to meditating on what you have read.

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." (Josh.1.8)

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. " (Ps.1.2 - 3)

Joshua says you will have good success, and the Psalmist says whatever you do shall prosper. The Apostle Paul says, that your profiting may appear to all. That's how we know that mediation is a success factor.
