This is good and pleases God

"This is good and pleases God our Savior." (1Tim.2.3 NLT) 

When the Bible says something is good and pleases God I want to do that thing in a hurry because I am pleased when God is pleased. 

What is this thing that is good and pleases God? The previous verse answers that question. It says: "Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation."  (1Tim.2.2 Msg)

The Apostle Paul says when we pray for rulers and their government, it is not only a good thing but that it pleases God. 

I have heard well-meaning leaders say it is difficult to pray for the government because they consider all the faults and atrocities, incompetence, and ineptitude of the government. But the Bible says when we do, it is good and that it pleases God. 

It is the place of the believer to pray that the rulers rule well. Is it possible that they do not rule well because we have failed in our assignment in the place of prayer? When we pray we expressly declare that the counsel of God stands. And God hears prayers. Prayers for rulers and their government, this is good and pleases God.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
