Victor's crown

"[As to what remains] henceforth there is laid up for me the [victor 's] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me and recompense me on that [great] day - and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and yearned for and welcomed His appearing (His return). (2Tim.4.8 AMP)

Happy valentines day. This is an appropriate day for this scripture.

The Apostle Paul says there is a victor's crown that awaits him and that the reason this crown awaits him is that he was right with God and has done right.

The only way one can be right with God is to believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Christ was made sin for us so that we can be made the righteousness of God in Christ.

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2Cor.5.21)

But after we believed we must engage in doing good works, doing right. Jesus said that men will see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matt.5.16)

This Victor's crown awaits all those who love - that tells us that our greatest asset is love. Love your neighbour as you love yourself but much love your neighbours as Christ has loved you. Christ is our love example. When you love there is a victor's crown awaiting you. The God kind of love, the agape love. Love is the walkway to victory. And because we love, we yearn for the day of Christ's coming.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
