A prisoner for preaching

"This letter is from Paul, in prison for preaching the Good News about Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. It is written to Philemon, our much loved co-worker, (Phlm.1.1 NLT)

If you were to be accused of doing good works, would there be enough evidence to convict you? If you were accused of preaching, will there be enough evidence to send you to prison?

The reason the Apostle Paul was in prison was that he was preaching the gospel. And he wore this badge so well.

One reason he wore this so well was so that others could follow in this example. Some of us do not take persecution well enough. We ask where is God in our difficult moments. But like Paul, we must understand that God is always with us. And once that is our attitude, we will begin to see the positive in the seeming difficulties.

God will never allow anything, persecution included, to come our way except if it works for us an exceeding weight of glory

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;" (2Cor.4.17)

Whatever it is that you are going through, the Bible calls it light affliction when compared to what the reward will be. Hold on and know that God is working on your behalf.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
