Disciplined life

Disciplined lif"Also, guide the young men to live disciplined lives." (Titus.2.7 MSB)

I checked the meaning of the word guide as used in our text. It is a verb and means "to show or indicate the way to someone" or to direct or influence the behaviour or development of someone." These are powerful words. 

When inputted into our text, it will read "Also, direct or influence the behaviour of young men to live disciplined lives" 

It is not unbecoming of young men to be unruly and uncoordinated but you can show them how to live a disciplined life. I dare say our young men haven't seen enough guidance that comes from the place of influence as far as discipline is concerned. Role models are far and in between. For young men to be guided, they have to see it long enough to be influenced by it and then developed. 

How are you modeling disciples? It has to be seventy percent action and thirty percent words. 

An undisciplined life is not worth living. Put your foot down, not so much by the words you speak but by the way you live.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
