Saying No

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age" (Titus.2.11 - 12 NIV)

The first thing that struck me in our text is the fact that the grace that brings salvation to all men, teaches. It says that grace teaches us - the question is whether we are learning.

The grace teaches us to say NO! Let's pause there.

A lot of people do not know how to say no. Some think that saying no is a bad thing. But saying no may mean not right now, not this option, not this way but that. We have been taught to find our yeses and that is a good thing but finding our yeses may mean we have to say no to some things.

We must learn as grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions but say yes to self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

Yes, we can be self-controlled, we can be upright and we can live godly. As we say yes to grace and no to ungodliness and worldly passions, we become everything God has in place for us.

Say no and do not feel guilty about it.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
