The sin question

The sin question

"Once sins are taken care of for good, there's no longer any need to offer sacrifices for them." (Heb.10.18 MSB)

Sin has been said to mean Satan's Identification Number. Sin is the transgression of the law (see 1 John:3:4) But our text tells us that the sin question was dealt with once and for all.

A lot of people are afraid to approach the presence of God because they believe they are not "worthy" to because of sin. But God is not afraid of sin. Sin is not powerful enough to keep anyone away from God. God death with the sin question once and for all and through the death of Christ made it eternally possible for man to approach Him any time any day.

When man sinned in the garden, God chased the man from the garden. But Jesus came and died, he took care of the sin.

"By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;" (Heb.10.20)

But Satan wants you to be held up at the gate of sin, that you are not able to come before God. Little wonder verse 19 says we should come boldly

"So, friends, we can now--without hesitation--walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God's presence is his body. (Heb.10.19 MSB)

What then happens if one sin? Tell it to God there and there, "Sorry Lord, I missed it here" and then appropriate the forgiveness that the death has made available for you. Sin cannot, and should not keep you away from God. If anything, it should drive you into the hands of your loving God.

Have a great day today,
