Be generous

"Be ready with a meal or a bed when it's needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it!" (Heb.13.2 MSB)

In most people's minds, generosity has been narrowed down to the gift of money because money grants access. Money buys almost anything you want. 

But being generous is much more than money. It is also a good disposition to people; the care and the love you show. How you speak to people may even be more important than what you say and how you say it. 

Sometimes, all a person needs is a shoulder to cry on or an encouraging word. Money in these instances will not suffice. "Be ready with a meal or a bed when it is needed". "When it is needed" is the operative word. 

Some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it. That shows that it was not that they set out to entertain angels but that it was their disposition to be generous at all times and that way they were generous to angels without even knowing it. 

Do not be generous to be seen but be seen to be generous.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
