Run your race...

Run your race...

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. (Heb.12.1 NLT)

Truth is the highest perception but not everyone sees it. It is the surest reality, yet not everyone lives or experiences it. Jesus said I am the Truth... But Pilate asked: What is truth?

"Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all." (John.18.38)

After he asked the all-important question, he would not even stay long enough to get an answer to his question. He was distracted. He was preoccupied. Too many people are not living the reality of this truth because they are distracted, and weighed down by besetting sin. They know they are free but they cannot rise above that issue that is slowing them down from effectively running the race that is set before them.

We are admonished to "strip off every weight that slows us down". Weight may not necessarily be a sin but it is heavy enough to slow down our progress. Stuff like not praying, not studying the word, not fellowshipping, not giving, malice, etc. It says, "especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress."

Then he says we should run with endurance the race that God has set before us. Your race is yours to run as God has instructed in His word. Your race is set before you and you alone. Before Him, you stand or fall. Run your race and be true to Him and yourself. Put one foot in front of the other, letting nothing stop you. Not sin, not weight...just run your race.

Have a great day today,
