Act on the word

Act on the word

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (Jas.1.22)

I have found that when I learned a lesson from God's word, situations arise that come to test that lesson. You know Jesus told us in Mark 4:17 that affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake.

"And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended."(Mark.4.17)

Affliction and persecution arise for the work's sake. That is, that word that you claim to believe will be tested.

The word of the Lord will test you. "Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him."(Ps.105.19)

All of these happen to allow you to act on the word of God. That is, you do not only want to hear the word but do the word. Catch yourself each time, and do God's word. The reward as we saw in Joseph's case was promotion. Do the word not necessarily for promotion but because it is the right thing to do. Be a doer of the word and not a hearer only. Act on God's word.
