Equip you

Equip you

"May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Heb.13.20-21 NIV)

As we come to the end of our study of the book of Hebrew my prayers for you are the same as the Apostle Paul's prayer in our text that you will be equipped with everything good for doing God's will. Note that equipping is to enable you to do the will of the Father. Not my will but thine will be done.

Secondly that God may work in you what is pleasing to Him. We are reminded that it is God who is at work in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Phil.2.13)

One way God does this is that he puts His desires in your heart. In other words, He makes you desire certain things and then gives you the energy to pursue them.

And finally, He will take the glory forever and ever. If you put all of that together, it becomes clear that God equips you to do His will, and the way he does it is that he puts a holy desire in your earth and empowers you to pursue it so that the glory will be His at the end.

Pay attention then to the things your heart desires. Delight yourself in Him and pay attention to your desire as you do that.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
