Test-suited

Test-suited

"Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his elevation [as a Christian, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God], And the rich [person ought to glory] in being humbled [by being shown his human frailty], because like the flower of the grass he will pass away." (Jas.1.9 - 10 AMP)

We are all tempted, but we are not tempted the same way or by the same trials. Each one has a test-suited trial targeted at them. For what one may fall for, the other may not. This is one reason we must not be too quick to point fingers. That your temptation is not mine, does not make me a better person or Christian than you and vice versa.

Here in our text, we see two sets of people. The first one was told to glory in elevation because he is of humble circumstances but on the other hand, the rich person was told to glory in being humble because of his riches.

Your temptation is tailored to you. Yes, we all indeed have general trials but the devil did not tempt Jesus with women because, at that moment, he was coming out of a fast, so the devil tempted him with bread -tailored-specific.

Little wonder Jesus wanted us to be aware of who we are. (See Matthew 16) Knowing your strength just as much as you know your weakness. Jesus also informed us that the way to know ourselves is by knowing Him. So when Peter rightly identified who Jesus is, Jesus rightly defined Peter. (Matt:16)

This is also one reason why you should not ask, "Why me?". Because it is in overcoming test-suited trials that you become all God intends for you to become. So today, find yourself by finding Jesus Christ and He will reveal you to you.

Have a great day today,
