Elect according to foreknowledge

Elect according to foreknowledge

"Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied." (1Pet.1.2)

We are the elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father. There is a way one behaves when one has superior knowledge that others do not have. If you were watching your favourite show and you were watching it with someone who had already seen that episode when it appears that your favourite character would be eliminated, you become frantic, and you wonder why the other person with whom you were watching wasn't frantic as well. It was because he had a foreknowledge that nothing untoward happened to your favourite character.

God is at peace because he has been in your tomorrow and knows that though today may look gloomy and cloudy, the sun will shine tomorrow. This was the same thing that happened in John 11. When Jesus was told that Lazarus was sick and was at the point of death, he was not worried. He knew that the sick was not unto death.

God is not worried about your state right now because according to His foreknowledge, you were sanctified by the spirit to obedience. God understands your tomorrow better than you do your yesterday. You are elected, and chosen by God. And God cannot make mistakes. You are elected unto sanctification. So trust him, trust the process, knowing that God has you in His foreknowledge.

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." (John.15.16)
