Human destiny

Human Destiny

"God is in charge of deciding human destiny. Who do you think you are to meddle in the destiny of others?" (Jas.4.12 MSB)

This verse clearly states that God is in charge of deciding human destiny. If God decides human destiny, does that mean that humans have no say in it?

If humans have no say in it, why then do we blame humans for the destines that God decides?

Humans have a part to play in this decision-making process.

"No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. (Eph.2.10 MSB)

What the Apostle James is saying is that God set the perimeters of human possibilities and this is very wide. And if man cooperates with God, man's decision activates God's possibilities in that man's life.

We know this from the scriptures. Phil.2.13 It is God that is at work in man both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

"[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. (Phil.2.13 AMP)

God requires you to cooperate with Him. He puts the desire in you but requires you to pursue that desire. If this is not the case, then the concept of rebellion - knowing what is the right thing to do but consciously doing what is wrong - has no basis. Cooperate with God in making decisions that align with His will for you and fulfill your destiny.
